Deva Ly is a senior PhD candidate at the ANU Research School of Psychology. She studies the often-implicit cognitive processes that contribute to perceptions of truth in decision making. Specifically, she examines the ways in which we unwittingly draw on intuition and feelings in assessing what is real and what is not.  She also has a broader interest in misinformation, how it travels and how people come to believe it. Deva completed her bachelor degree with first class honours at the ANU in psychology. This research is part of a collaborative project with Dr Eryn Newman in the ANU Applied Memory and Cognition Lab, as well as Professor Daniel Bernstein in the Lifespan Cognition Lab at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Canada.
