Jason did his PhD at ANU, and then worked at Yale University in the USA before returning to Australia to take up a position at UNSW in the Climate Change Research Centre. His research is focused on understanding regional climate phenomena, with a focus on climate hazards including bushfire. His work improves how we model these phenomena in regional climate models and uses these models to project how they will change in a future warmer climate.
Topic: Jason will look at how bushfires in Australia have been changing and will explore the role of climate change in causing these changes. He will also consider what future climate change means for bushfires here.
